How are Trial Use Marriage Rites Authorized?
Resolution 2018-B012 continues the trial use of "The Witnessing and Blessing of a Marriage” and “The Celebration and Blessing of a Marriage 2" which is contained in "Liturgical Resources 1" (which was originally authorized for trial use in Resolution 2015-A054).
Resolution 2018-B012 authorized for trial use “The Blessing of a Civil Marriage 2” and “An Order for Marriage 2" which was contained in "Liturgical Resources 2".
Resolution 2018-B012 authorized that the trial use for these liturgies ("The Witnessing and Blessing of a Marriage”, “The Celebration and Blessing of a Marriage 2", “The Blessing of a Civil Marriage 2” and “An Order for Marriage 2" shall" extend until the completion of the next comprehensive revision of the Book of Common Prayer".
Resolution 2018-B012 also mandated that these liturgies will be published in Liturgical Resources 2.
NOTE: Liturgical Resources 2 contains other material "Concerning the Service of Marriage", proper prefaces for marriage, and the catachism which were not authorized but rather referred by Resolution 2018-B012 to the SCLM for "seriosu consideration as they engage the process of revision of the Book of Common Prayer."
